Counting the Days ….

Published by beccawrites under Uncategorized Edit This

http://images.pcworld.com/news/graphics/131925-03_wii.jpg

My family has been counting the days til’ Christmas, especially my daughter. She has been so excited about it and thinks she is getting baby dolls and such. She has no idea she is getting a Wii for Christmas - boy will she be surprised!

Bought a Wii

I love to give gifts that surprise someone, especially my children. So, I bought a bundle pack for the Nintendo Wii that comes with various accessories. It comes with a couple of games, tennis rackets, a blaster, racing wheel and more. Plus, she is getting the New Super Mario Bros for the Wii - that will be her favorite of all, at least for now.

Mario and Yoshi Here We Come!

My children grew up with Mario, so my daughter loves Mario and Yoshi. Since we traded in our Gamecube and the Xbox 360 croaked, neither one of us have been able to play very many games, except for her Nintendo DS or on the PC. Still, it’s just not the same as playing on a video game system.

Oh, how sweet it is …. finally, we have a gaming system to play - the Nintendo Wii. Counting the days has been fun but very suspenseful. Tomorrow is the final hour, then we get to play video games on a gaming console again! Wooo hooo!

Don’t Forget

I would like to take this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Remember the reason for this season, His name is Jesus, Yeshua - the Great I am. Won’t you take some time and thank Him for ALL He has done for you and your family .. after all, He died for you, so you could live forever with Him, be healed, restored and made whole.

Happy gaming to all the gamers out there. Perhaps you are getting new gaming systems as well one way or the other. If so, enjoy! I know we sure will!

Can’t Wait to Play the Wii!

Published by beccawrites under Uncategorized Edit This

With Christmas only nine days away, I am looking forward to playing the Nintendo Wii. Counting down the days for the opportunity to play it is like watching time. Because my family is used to playing the Xbox 360, buying another gaming system made perfect sense for me when my daughter asked for a Wii as her “most favored” Christmas gift.

Saying Bye to the 360 - Well, for Now

My family is an Xbox 360 family, but our 360 is fried. After careful consideration, I decided instead of buying a new 360, I thought it is a good time to venture out and try something new - time to buy a Wii. I will buy another 360, but for now, it will be fun to have some new gaming adventures, that’s for sure! However, being a newbie with the Wii, I am going to have to learn the many things I already know is different than the Xbox 360 - can’t wait, though!!! Plus, I have to shop for games and find out which ones are good and fun.

The True Meaning

Now, the true meaning of Christmas is not about the gifts we receive or the time we spend with one another. But rather, it is about the Lord Jesus Christ and the celebrating of His birth, death and resurrection for each one of us on that special day. Christmas is the time for celebrating Jesus’ very special birthday. It is also a time when we should reflect on our lives and look deep within ourselves to see how we are living, what we need to change then changing it. I celebrate Jesus every day of the year, because He is so wonderful, and He alone is worthy!

Yep, it’s almost time for Christmas.

It’s Christmas Time Again - Time for a Wii!

Published by beccawrites under Uncategorized Edit This

Nintendo WiiMario Kart Wii

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It is a time to reflect on the needs of others and come together in unity to bring hope, love and peace with joy to all our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Christmas time is a time when we should give of ourselves to love and help those around us. It is also a time for sharing and giving gifts to our family and friends. Well, this year I am giving my seven-yr-old daughter a Wii -  I cannot wait!!!

When I asked my daughter what she wants for Christmas, she did not hesitate to say, “I want a Wii.” Now, that surprised me. I did not expect that from her, but I am happy she said it. I was planning on buying a PS 3 with Ratchet and Clank and the Indy racing game, but she wants a Wii. So, for now, a Wii it is. It will be hers. I am excited about getting it, because we will have something new and different to play. Time to have some Wii exercise and become Wii fit!

Look out Wii .. here we come!

Life Isn’t the Same without My Xbox 360!

Published by beccawrites under Uncategorized Edit This

I have so much to do in my daily schedule, and there is virtually no time to do what I love to do the most - video games. It doesn’t seem to matter, either, because both of my Xbox 360’s quit working. One of them had the three rings, while the other struggles to load.

The last time I tried to play, my game loaded but froze. So, I turned it off to try again, only to have the red lights - darn! So, I went into my closet to retrieve the other Xbox 360 that was put aside because of the problem it had loading. I thought .. surely, one of them had to work - not! The second 360 froze quicker than I could blink an eye.

You know, they say your home isn’t a home without pets, and this is very true. But .. my home isn’t the same without the sound from the Xbox 360! Looks like I get a new and early Christmas gift for myself.

Three Red Rings - NOT AGAIN!

Published by beccawrites under Uncategorized Edit This

Xbox 360 - Red Ring of Death - RRoD by gongus.

Tonight, I was going to take the night off to do something I haven’t done in a long time - spend some good quality time with the Xbox 360.

I turned it on … just listen to that sound - love it! It loaded, then I signed into my profile.Since I haven’t played the 360 in a long time, I thought about the game I wanted to play. Finally, I made my choice - Burnout Paradise. I opened the tray and put the game in.

Now, the game was loading, and I was on my way to a night of relaxation and VIDEO GAMES!!! I was ready to start racing and smashing things, then all of a sudden the 360 froze. So, I restarted it, then the worst thing for a gamer happened - three red rings. I said, “NOOOOOOOOOO!!!” I wouldn’t accept it, so I carefully checked all the plugs to make sure they were properly connected to the ports - they were. I tried it again and again. I turned it off and one several times, but the same thing - three red rings.

Well, looks like there is no 360 for me tonight, or any other night, until I get it repaired or buy a new one. It’s times like this, I’m so thankful for my daughter’s pink DS. Hhhhhhhhhhh!

Farmin’ with Farmville

Published by beccawrites under RPG, Uncategorized Edit This

farmville

Facebook seems to be the spot where everyone wants to gather and post what they think, feel and do. I thought this was pointless. At first, I didn’t have a profile. But, then I thought … why not, so I got one to see what it was all about.

Once I created the profile, I began to look around. It didn’t take me very long to become bored with it, which caused to search for something other than posting random thoughts. That is when I came across Farmville.

Farmville is a cute game where you create your character and farm. It takes a while, but the more points and coins you earn, the more you rank up and able to buy various things. I have two sheep, two cows, two chickens and about four trees. Soon, I hope to have a horse, duck and a treehouse. I have added a picket fence with a mailbox. You can help your neighbors as well. You can have as many of the animals you want, you just have to pay for them.

Now, I know this seems silly, but it really is fun once you dive into it. You earn coins/money by plowing, sowing and harvesting foods in your garden. The more points you earn, the more you level up. The more you level up, the more you can do and add to your farm. I can’t wait to get that horse.

Try Farmville for yourself, if you have a Facebook profile. Once you get started, you won’t want to stop. It is interestingly fun and attention-getting. Happy farming with Farmville!

Video Games - Never Get Enough of Them!

Published by beccawrites under Uncategorized Edit This

Video games is my favorite pass-time and fun-time! If I could, I would do nothing but play video games, until I get bored. But, with all the games to play, that would not happen so easily.

My sister is discovering the fun to playing video games herself. She’ll call me on the phone and tell me she’s at Gamestop and ask questions about this or that, because she knows I have more experience than her when it comes to video games. I find it so funny that my sister used to mock me for playing video games, and now she can’t get enough of them. She has to make regular stops at the Gamestop across the street from where she works once every pay day, if not more. Now, that is the way to do it - get paid, buy
games - if possible!

Keep playin’ sis! I’m so proud of you! Next, we’ll get you to play those FPS, and I’m not talkin’ Wall-e, either!

I Love Saturday!

Published by beccawrites under Uncategorized Edit This

I have to say without a doubt, I believe Saturday has to be one of my favorite days of the week. This is the day when I get to sleep in (try to at least) and wake at my own leisure. So, I suppose Saturday is usually a day of rest for me.

Once I am awake, I go to the kitchen and fix my coffee, spend some time with the Lord, read my bible a bit and thank the Lord for all He has done for my family and me. He has been so good to my family! Then … I turn on the Xbox 360.

My little girl and I enjoy playing some of the arcade hits from Xbox Live or her favorite, Lego Star Wars. It is relaxing to me to play video games, and when I play with my little girl, we have tons of laughs. Saturdays are anticipated in my home, and hopefully I am able to spend some time with the 360 , but if not, it is okay. There are more Saturdays that are yet to come.

If you don’t have an Xbox 360, you really should try it. Then you too will look forward to the upcoming Saturday in hopes of being able to spend some one-on-one time with your new toy.

Finding the Time

Published by beccawrites under Uncategorized Edit This

Playing video games has been one of my favorite things to do for so many years now. The more time passes, the less time I seem to have to play them. Because of this, I try very hard to make Saturday a day of rest for myself.

Now, Saturdays is not always an option for me, but I try to arrange things to allow me to prevail with the Xbox 360 and my favorite video games. Once I get to start playing, time goes by so fast that it is already time for me to go to bed for the night.

Being a video game mom is fun, but finding the time to enjoy the fun of it is a whole other thing. I’m sure hoping to have fun with our Xbox 360 this coming Saturday, and if not, I can play the Nintendo DS a bit when I am lying in bed, which I usually do.

Video Games — Anyone Can Play

Video games are for anyone, and anyone can learn to play — my sister can attest to that. You don’t have to have certain skills or an understanding of the “how to’s,” only the desire to play.

Parents Playing Video Games?

Video games seem to be increasing in popularity on a continual basis. Now, more than ever, I see parents buying video game consoles, such as the Wii, Xbox 360 or PS3 for themselves — the Wii being preferred among many of them.

Moms Love the Wii

The Wii has a way of attracting a lot of adults and parents because of the ability to physically participate in games like Dance Dance Revolution, fishing, bowling, baseball and others. Moms get right in there and have a blast playing those video games — they are so much fun!

My math instructor in college bought a Wii for herself and loves it. She said her husband prefers his Xbox 360, but she prefers the Wii with the Wii mote and Nunchuck.

Whatever or however you prefer playing a video game, there is something for everyone. You can play a hand-held video game, play on your PC or a video game console. If you don’t like the idea of sitting to play a video game, try the Wii and enjoy the challenge of participation.
